Merry Christmas to All, See You in 2010!

by Mike Kendra on December 21, 2009

Have a Merry Christmas, and Break Many Clays in the New Year!

Our team commander accidentally shot a reindeer
While firing at a clay board Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and the team, we believe.

He’d been drinkin’ too much egg nog,
And we’d begged him to go back to his tent.
But he’d loaded his ammunition,
And he stumbled out with his bayonette.

I warned the timer and the safety.
“You better watch out for extra hits!”
You should never give a musket,
To a man who fires his rammer just for kicks.

Our team commander accidentally shot a reindeer
While firing at a clay board Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and the team, we believe.

Now were all so ashamed of ourselves,
We’ve been enjoying beer and steaks throughout the night.
See us roasting up the venison
While we sing camp songs by fire light.

When we woke up Christmas mornin’,
At the scene of our teams camp.
There were hoof prints on the hood of my pickup,
And an insulting Claus note on my tent

We made steaks and sausage out of Santa’s reindeer,
When we made camp at the Fort on Christmas eve.
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa,
But we have a note that says we killed Donner, and we believe.

Thanks for all the support and comments this fall, I’ll have all kinds of new articles for everyone in 2010!  Have a safe and happy holiday. My next post will be on Monday, January 11th, 2010.
