I’m going to assume that most of you are aware of the recent changes at the N-SSA message board. If you haven’t heard, please read my last posting on Sunday, January 30th.
As of last night my Regional Commander, Ed Moore of the New England Region notified all the teams in our region of the results from the BoD meeting. He mentioned that the Board feels that “anything which appears on the BB is under the N-SSA logo, and therefore reflects directly on the Association” and that’s the primary reason for taking many of the BBS forums down.
Apparently the JAG issue discussed at the October Membership Meeting will also be made public shortly, I’ll be sure to let you know all about the issue and what happened once I learn more.
I would also just like to point out that I feel that this whole situation is pretty sad. There was a time when I really enjoyed visiting the BBS and making comments and being a part of the community.
All that changed back on October 22nd, 2008, when I publicly left the N-SSA message board. You can read all about that issue here if you want.
From the looks of things, many BBS users are moving, or have already moved to Facebook to continue these discussions. I had hoped to have some level of participation on my personal message board at CivilWarTalk, but so far there has been a lack of enthusiasm for that idea.
I’d like to leave you with this final thought: I think it’s time we all just moved on from this late unpleasantness, perhaps over time we can rebuild what was lost. I for one would just like to load some lead and break lots of clays, that’s all the motivation I need.
PS: Come back on Thursday for a Special Edition of Skirmish Notes!
