My 2010 Spring Nationals Schedule

by Mike Kendra on May 10, 2010

The time has come for me to prepare for another National Skirmish, and this time I will be exceptionally busy. I know, it’s a cheesy blog post topic, but I’m running a bit thin on things to write about.

So, in the interests of getting as much done as possible, I’m putting a schedule together for myself, and I’m going to share it so you can find me and say “hi” and “howdy” when you see me wandering about.

Armed with two digital cameras and my video camcorder I’m hoping to get all kinds of stories and videos to share on the blog.

I’m planning to leave NJ sometime Thursday night, so my first chance to get out and about will be Friday. Here is my Friday plan…

  • 800 am coverage of revolver match
  • 1045 am artillery meeting
  • 200 pm participate in smoothbore match, Position 29
  • 400 pm coverage of mortar match
  • 730 pm membership meeting

Saturday is more of the same…

  • 800 am sleep late
  • 807 am awake and ready to find a story, I’m not participating in the carbine match, any suggestions? If not, “B-roll” video….
  • 1200 pm participate in the breechloader match, Position 47
  • 130 pm participate in artillery matches, Relay 1, Position 13
  • 630 pm awards ceremony coverage

Sunday I’ll be shooting on Phase I, Position 53 with my team. Unless someone would like to meet with me afterward, I’ll be heading home soon after the 1st Phase is complete.

If you want to meet with me, just let me know where and when, and I’ll look for you.

If you have a story idea, or if you have your own photos and video to share with our blog readers, contact me! All suggestions and help is appreciated!

You should only be thin on topics for a week or two more. Should be something of interest to write about that comes up at the big shoot.

Could write about the history of Fort. S. Could write about the evolution of musket competition in the Asso. Could write about different firearms used in the Henry match, or in the SS match, or in the revolver match. You could find a woman shooting a neat small musket and write about both, you could write about the effectiveness of the rounds you cast for the Parrot rifle. You could write about the exit road, the appearance of Sutlers, the fife and drum music. You could write about the development of the new camping area. You could write about the trials faces by those who camp on the top of the hill in getting to and from the firing ling with or without vehicles. You could write about the candidates for office in the 2010 elections.

There seems to be no shortage of topics, Mike. Just keep writing.

Chris has given you a lot of possible topics, and I would be interested in reading about any one of them.

Mike, You could write about how come the N-SSA payed $550,000
dollars for land that the STATE OF VIRGINA has a ASSESSMENT
VALUE of $170,495 on. As found on COUNTY OF FREDRICK
Property Information Map#29 A39 Dated 8/1/2008
Real Estate in Virgina is taxed on 100% of fair market value.
